Tigers News · Saturday Flashback: Tigers sweep Erie

Holy Family improved to 16-3 overall and 11-1 in the Tri-Valley League, pulling away from Erie in the third quarter for 62-50 victory over the orange and black Tigers.

Tanner Baird led the way with 20 points and Kyle Helbig added 16. Adam Jolly finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Dominic Nellis dished out 10 assists.

It was a grind on Saturday evening for the girls, who knew they were going to get everything the could handle from Erie.

Not a single Holy Family player was in double figures and Ron Rossi’s crew struggled to create any sort of separation from their opponents. Eight different Tigers scored, led by sophomore Alyssa Wells’ nine points.

Genevieve Gudoni and Amanda Ward each had eight points and both Gabby Thomas and Tyler Whitlock had six.

The boys traveled to Gilcrest for the Valley Vikings Invitational against a strong 3A field.

Four different Tigers placed, including: Logan Erickson fourth at 113 pounds, Joe Szymanski sixth at 152 pounds, Hunter Branson was third at 170 pounds and freshman Jacob Berry was fifth at 285 pounds.
