BROOMFIELD — The long awaited decision is over.
Holy Family senior Kyle Helbig made things official on Monday afternoon, taking to Twitter to announce his commitment with Coach Mike Bobo and the Colorado State University Rams.
In the tweet, Helbig paid homage to his family and coaches that have helped him get to where he is.
Depending on where you look in the ratings websites, Kyle is considered a 3-star recruit (at tight end) and 24/7Sports has him as the No. 12 prospect in all of Colorado and the No. 1 tight end. He was also considering offers from Iowa State, Wyoming, Utah State and Air Force.
Helbig and the Tigers will be back in action on Friday night in Colorado Springs against Harrison in the first round of the Class 3A state tournament. Holy Family is the No. 12 seed and taker on a Panthers team that ran the table this season and is a perfect 10-0.
